CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Cedar Rapids small business owner Jake Brummer has announced his campaign to run for mayor, pledging to represent the “normal everyday people of Cedar Rapids.”

In a news release, Brummer says he thinks people would be able to relate to him as Mayor.

The release says that he wants to see improvements on spending equal funding to all parts of the city, claiming there is heavy neglect in some areas. He also wants more Cedar Rapids voters involved in the process of City Council.

Burmmer will be running against businesswoman Amara Andrews, former TV news anchor Tiffany O’Donnell, and current Mayor Brad Hart. Hart announced in January that he was seeking reelection.
