Mar. 10: Iowa reports over 290,000 people have received 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccine
State health officials are reporting 13,654 more COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to Iowa residents. This means a reported 883,181 Iowans have received a dose of the vaccine.
So far, the state’s COVID-19 vaccination dashboard shows 293,783 people have received their second dose, completing their vaccine series.
Total COVID-19 hospitalizations have risen to 179, an increase of 11 since yesterday.
Iowa Department of Public Health data shows there were 802 new, confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Tuesday to 10 a.m. Wednesday, meaning 341,009 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19.
The state’s website says of the people who have tested positive, 322,275 have recovered. This is 743 more recoveries than what the state reported yesterday.
The state has reported 27 additional deaths connected to COVID-19, bringing Iowa’s death toll to 5,601.
Subtracting the number of recoveries (322,275) and the number of deaths (5,601) from the total number of cases (341,009) shows there are currently 13,133 active positive cases in the state.
In Iowa, the test results for 4,162 more individuals were reported, and a total of 1,585,123 individuals have been tested for COVID-19.
