Offord firefighter injured while battling fire in Cosgrove
Oxford, Iowa – City authorities said that an Oxford fireman had been seriously hurt while on the job on Friday.
A fire broke out in the neighboring community of Cosgrove at around 3:48 p.m., and first responders from Oxford were sent to the scene. Travis Walters received third-degree burns while attempting to put out the fire.
According to a post on the city’s Facebook page, Walters was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City to receive treatment for his injuries.
He is expected to fully recover.
