Sioux City Police Department to hold “Strengthening and Improving Community Relations” event
Sioux City, Iowa – Strengthening and Improving Community Relations event will be held by the Sioux City Police Department.
The event will take place at the Sioux City Public Museum at 7 p.m. on June 15.
It will highlight de-escalation methods in high-stress scenarios with law enforcement.
Attendees at this event will be informed of what happens during traffic stops and other interactions with local enforcement. Also, the purpose of this event is to understand how officers can improve and help people with anxiety about law enforcement.
“We don’t know that the anxiety or stress of dealing with law enforcement will ever completely go away, but we want to take steps to make those relations as strong as we can so those folks trust us and trust what we are doing,” Sioux City Police Officer Andrew Dutler said.
