30+ new COVID-19 deaths reported, almost 4,900 more people fully vaccinated
DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 data shows an increase of 804 confirmed cases of the virus from 10:00 a.m. on February 4 to 10:00 a.m. on February 5. Those new cases come from 3,411 new tests. The positivity rate of those latest tests is 23.6%.
74,098 people in Iowa are now been completely vaccinated against COVID-19 – 4,866 more than Wednesday morning. Vaccination numbers appear to be updating daily during the 12:00 p.m. hour.
34 new deaths were reported over the last 24-hour stretch – with 5,067 Iowans now dead from COVID-19 during the pandemic.
There are now 323,317 total cases confirmed in Iowa from 1,489,096 people tested for COVID-19.
291,536 Iowans are now classified as recovering from the virus – with 1,524 recoveries added in the last 24 hours.
348 people are now hospitalized in Iowa because of COVID-19. 66 of those patients are in the ICU. 31 of the patients are on ventilators. 52 new patients were admitted to Iowa hospitals over the last 24-hour period measured by IDPH.
