Sexual assaults reported to the University of Iowa Police

Iowa City, Iowa – According to University of Iowa police, throughout the past week, the department has received at least two reports of sexual assault.

The initial attack was reported on February 4th, a Tuesday. The University of Iowa received a report of fondling at an east-side resident hall in the evening, per a crime alert. The notice stated that an acquaintance was responsible for the assault.

On Sunday morning, the second assault was reported. A report of fondling at the Field House was sent to the University of Iowa, per a crime alert.

No arrests were mentioned in either notice.

According to the University of Iowa, anyone who witnesses an assault or other crime should notify UI Police right away. In the event of an emergency, dial 911 or send a text. The number to reach the non-emergency line is 319-335-5022.
