Snowstorms, according to a third-party delivery driver, bring enormous business

Cedar Rapids, Iowa – Some people are enduring the cold to earn money, even though the roads are covered in snow, the weather is slippery, and visibility is occasionally poor.

Expecting someone to bring you food during a storm may seem cruel, but for a father of four, he said it’s a lucrative job, and he makes every effort to keep himself and others safe.

Brian Myers had cleared the snow off his window and was prepared to go out for a long night of food delivery.

“I like it because I get to discover restaurants I didn’t know existed,” Myers remarked.

He has spent the last eight years driving for Uber Eats. Driving in less than ideal road conditions is nothing new to him.

He remarked, “I like to tell people that I am like the post office because we are out in all kinds of weather.”

Orders began to flow in rapidly. whether it was picked up from a supermarket order or from a restaurant. Customers smile when they drop off their orders.

He said to one customer, “Crazy weather, ain’t it.”

However, according to Myers, there are some concerns. He is concerned about other drivers, the state of the roads, and where the order might lead him.

“The worst thing about driving in the country, literally, is that you can have roads that look good and then suddenly they look like they are now,” Myers remarked.

When the roads are this terrible, he tries to remain closer to home, avoid less-traveled roads, slow down, and keep an eye out for other vehicles. However, he claims that the additional orders make it worthwhile to drive in a snowfall while staff clean the area, which results in the first bout of snow.

He remarked, “Some of these roads look like this or worse.”
