Due to a water main break, several Coralville schools closed on Monday
Coralville, Iowa – Four Coralville schools will be closed on Monday due to a water main break, according to the Iowa City Community School District.
Crews from the City of Coralville are trying to find the water main break, according to Kim Colvin of ICCSD.
Borlaug Elementary, Coralville Central Elementary, Kirkwood Elementary, and Northwest Middle School will all be closed on Monday.
Only these four schools are impacted by the closure. At all other schools in our district, classes will go on as usual.
According to an update, the Coralville Water Department acted swiftly to address a problem in the water system south of Interstate 80 before it spread.
Coralville Water and the Iowa DNR have concluded that the water is still safe for drinking, cooking, and other uses because there was no loss of pressure.
