Mar. 4: Iowa reports over 715,000 residents have received a COVID-19 vaccine dose
Iowa health officials are reporting 18,536 more vaccine doses have been administered to Iowa residents. This means a reported 715,176 Iowans have received a dose of the vaccine.
So far, the state’s COVID-19 vaccination dashboard shows 196,084 people have received their second dose, completing their vaccine series.
As vaccinations continue across the state, total COVID-19 hospitalizations have dropped to 184, a decrease of 13 since yesterday.
Iowa Department of Public Health data shows there were 568 new, confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday, meaning 338,168 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19.
The state’s website says of the people who have tested positive, 318,573 have recovered. This is 835 more recoveries than what the state reported yesterday.
The state has reported 35 additional deaths connected to COVID-19, bringing Iowa’s death toll to 5,536.
Subtracting the number of recoveries (318,573) and the number of deaths (5,536) from the total number of cases (338,168) shows there are currently 14,059 active positive cases in the state.
In Iowa, the results for 3,390 more individuals were reported, and a total of 1,568,805 individuals have been tested for COVID-19.
