Mar. 11: Iowa reports over 328,000 people fully vaccinated against COVID-19
State health officials are reporting 80,606 more COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to Iowa residents, that’s now including the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. This means a reported 963,787 people have received a dose of the vaccine.
So far, the state’s COVID-19 vaccination dashboard shows 305,794 people have received their second dose, completing their vaccine series. With Iowa now administering Johnson & Johnson vaccines, 22,537 people have completed their single-dose vaccination. In total, 328,332 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Total COVID-19 hospitalizations have dropped to 166, a decrease of 13 since yesterday.
Iowa Department of Public Health data shows there were 414 new, confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday, meaning 341,423 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19.
The state’s website says of the people who have tested positive, 322,997 have recovered. This is 722 more recoveries than what the state reported yesterday.
The state has reported 20 additional deaths connected to COVID-19, bringing Iowa’s death toll to 5,621.
Subtracting the number of recoveries (322,997) and the number of deaths (5,621) from the total number of cases (341,423) shows there are currently 12,805 active positive cases in the state.
In Iowa, the test results for 2,799 more individuals were reported, and a total of 1,585,123 individuals have been tested for COVID-19.
