Police charge Stuart man for harboring a runaway teen
STUART, Iowa —
Police have arrested a Stuart man after he harbored a teen who had gone missing.
On Monday morning, authorities received reports of a 13-year-old girl missing from her home in Stuart.
Police responded to the home of Dale Terrell later that morning where they questioned him about the teen’s disappearance. Terrell denied that the teen had been in his home.
That evening, authorities returned to Terrell’s home where he continued to deny that the teen was in the home. Police showed him evidence proving otherwise and he confessed that the teen was inside the house.
Police were able to find the girl and return her unharmed to her parents.
Dale Terrell, 61, was charged with harboring a runaway child, interference with official acts and violating a no-contact order.
Authorities are still investigating this incident.
