Cedar Rapids, Iowa City schools holding vaccine clinics for eligible high schoolers
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Cedar Rapids and Iowa City community school districts are holding COVID-19 vaccine clinics for eligible high schoolers.
The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is currently approved for use in kids 16 years of age and older.
ICCSD students were able to get their first dose of the vaccine on Friday, May 7th.
Second dose clinics will be held Friday, May 28th.
ICCSD partnered with Johnson County Public Health to hold vaccine clinics at all four of their high schools.
CRCSD partnered with Linn County Public Health to hold vaccine clinics at at Kennedy, Jefferson, Washington, and Metro high schools.
Each high school nurse can provide the COVID-19 vaccine during the school-day hours.
Wednesday 5/12 1st shot and Wednesday 6/2 second shot:
- Metro 8-10AM
- Kennedy 9-12PM
Thursday 5/13 1st shot and Thursday 6/3 second shot:
- Jefferson 9-12PM
- Washington 12-3PM
These clinics were for students who choose to be vaccinated. Students must be 16 years of age and written parental consent is required.
