May 21: Iowa sees 176 new COVID-19 cases
DES MOINES, Iowa — New data from the Iowa Department of Public Health shows an additional 176 positive cases of COVID-19 in the state from 10:00 a.m. May 20 to 10:00 a.m. May 21.
A total of 370,330 people in Iowa have now tested positive for COVID-19 since the coronavirus pandemic began.
The seven-day rolling positive test average is at 2.8% in the state.
Seven new COVID-19-related deaths have been reported, moving the state’s death total to 6,025.
An additional 8,685 people have been fully vaccinated in Iowa against the virus for a total of 1,294,768
Iowa has administered 2,658,796 total doses of the vaccine.
The total number of hospitalizations in Iowa decreased by four to 142. There are 42 patients in ICU, a decrease of three from May 20.
