Rear-end accident sent one in hospital
Linn County, Iowa – Rear-end accident in Marion sent one to the hospital on Monday.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office responded at the intersection of Iowa Highway 100 and U.S. Highway 151/Iowa Highway 13 on the northeast side of Marion to a report of a two-vehicle crash around 5:26 p.m. on Monday.
According to police report, a vehicle was stopped at the intersection’s stoplight when the other vehicle failed to stop and hit the vehicle in front of it.
The driver of the rear-ended vehicle was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, James Pitts suffered minor injuries and did not need medical treatment.
Pitts is cited for failure to stop in assured clear distance.
