Cedar Rapids Police looking for suspects in catalytic converter theft
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -The Cedar Rapids Police Department are asking the public’s help in identifying the suspect (or suspects) involved involved in the theft of a catalytic converter on Monday night.
Police say the theft took place on Monday, February 1st sometime around 11:00 A.M. on the southwest side of town.
The same vehicle is believed to have been involved in a catalytic converter theft in northeast Cedar Rapids late on Sunday, January 31st or early February 1st.
Surveillance video of the suspect and suspect vehicle can be seen below.
Cedar Rapids Police recently told KCRG-TV9 that thefts of catalytic converters are happening in all quadrants of the city, with around 30 reports of stolen catalytic converters since November.
Anyone with information about the incident or who can identify the suspect or suspect vehicle is asked to contact the Cedar Rapids Police Department at 319-286-5491 and reference case #2021-01806.
