Two people hospitalized after a two-vehicle accident near Covington
Covington, Iowa – According to authorities, two people were brought to a hospital on Sunday after a two-vehicle accident.
In Covington, the Linn County Sheriff’s Office was sent to a report of a car collision at roughly 4:26 p.m. near the junction of Covington Road and Railroad Street. Investigators say that a southbound passenger car crossed the center line of the road, causing a collision with a northbound car.
At the scene, the driver of the southbound car declined medical attention. The two people from the northbound car were taken to Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids for treatment of what were thought to be minor injuries.
The Palo Fire Department and Area Ambulance Service assisted the Linn County Sheriff’s Rescue Team.
The investigation into the accident is still underway.
