Police in Cedar Rapids led on early morning pursuit
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – A man is in custody in Cedar Rapids after eluding officers on foot following a police pursuit.
Around 4 a.m. today, officers stopped an SUV pulling a trailer at 2nd St. and 22nd Avenue Southwest.
The driver, refusing to identify himself, was asked to exit the vehicle. The subject resisted and drove away.
Police were then led on a pursuit lasting just over two minutes. The vehicle left the roadway on Bowling St. Southwest, just south of 33rd Avenue Southwest.
It’s at that time that the driver began running from officers on foot.
The trailer was found to be stolen out of Scott County. The driver is facing felony theft, felony eluding and various other traffic violations.
