After the main break, the City of McGregor issues a boil water notice
McGregor, Iowa – Following a water main break on Wednesday morning, several residents in McGregor had a brief water outage.
According to city officials, there was an emergency water shut-off because of damage to a water main during construction.
It took place at the junction of Ann and 7th Streets.
The Catholic Church on 7th Street, the Care Center on Garnavillo Avenue, as well as the people living on Buell Avenue, Tanglewood Drive, W. Spring Street, and the 700 block of Ann Street, are among the local businesses and residents affected.
Although repairs have been completed, the affected area is under a boil advisory due to possible bacterial contamination, according to city officials.
People in the affected area are advised not to drink water without first boiling it.
