10th Annual Solidarity Ride this Saturday in Cedar Rapids

Join the fun this Saturday, July 25th, for the 10th Annual Solidarity Ride & Poker Run!
The ride will start at Metro Harley Davidson at 10 a.m. with registration beginning at 8:30. Highway 30 Diner has partnered with the ride for a pre-ride breakfast for riders and participants starting at 7 a.m. Highway 30 Diner is located at 4330 16th Avenue SW in Cedar Rapids. Highway 30 Diner has agreed to donate a portion of sales to the ride.
The registration fee is just $10 per person and all proceeds from the ride will benefit Eastern Iowa Honor Flights. Last year, the event raised over $19,000 and organizers are hoping to top that with this year’s event.
The ride is brought to you by the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Building Trades Council. The two main sponsors helping again this year are Built by Pros and Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust.
I spoke with Troy Sauter, Business manager for the Local 89 Iron Workers. He told me, “This is a great way to raise money for our Veterans, and it’s means so much to me as my son is currently serving in the U.S Navy. I hope folks will come out and support the ride and have some fun!”
The ride will take off from Metro at 10 a.m. There will be stops at Pearl Street in Shellsburg, Wolfey’s in Quasky, Fullers Damn Bar in Troy Mills and finish at Whiskey Jo’s in Cedar Rapids.
Once again, all proceeds will benefit Eastern Iowa Honor Flight. For more info on the ride.
