35 new COVID-19 deaths reported; Iowa surpasses 90,000 fully vaccinated

The Iowa Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 data shows an increase of 713 confirmed cases of the virus from 10:00 a.m. on February 8 to 10:00 a.m. on February 9. Those new cases come from 2,940 new tests. The positivity rate of those latest tests is 24.3%.

90,540 people in Iowa are now been completely vaccinated against COVID-19 – 998 more than Monday morning. Vaccination numbers appear to be updating daily during the 12:00 p.m. hour.

35 new deaths were reported over the last 24-hour stretch – with 5,145 Iowans now dead from COVID-19 during the pandemic.

There are now 325,379 total cases confirmed in Iowa from 1,498,143 people tested for COVID-19.

296,440 Iowans are now classified as recovering from the virus – with 2,321 recoveries added in the last 24 hours.

327 people are now hospitalized in Iowa because of COVID-19. 67 of those patients are in the ICU. 29 of the patients are on ventilators. 40 new patients were admitted to Iowa hospitals over the last 24-hour period measured by IDPH.
