UPDATE: Suspect in deadly I-380 crash in Cedar Rapids turns himself in

UPDATE: Cedar Rapids Police say Tyler Lee turned himself in at the Linn County Jail around 4 p.m. Wednesday after warrants were issued for his arrest.

ORIGINAL STORY: CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Cedar Rapids Police have issued warrants for a man involved in a deadly crash on March 7th on I-380 north of the 7th Street NE exit.

The investigation pointed to 34-year-old Tyler Lee of Rockton, IL driving a Ford F-150 going south in the northbound lanes. Lee hit a Chevy Suburban with four people inside. One of the passengers, David Nguyen, 23, of Cedar Rapids was killed. The driver and another passenger suffered serious injuries.

Based on evidence, including toxicology reports, warrants have been issued for Lee for Homicide by Vehicle-Operating While Intoxicated, Homicide by Vehicle-Reckless Driving and two counts of Serious Injury by Motor Vehicle.

Warrants have been submitted to the National Crime Information Center database for nationwide pickup of the suspect by law enforcement officers.
