Iowa reports over 690,000 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Iowa health officials are reporting 1,644,316 total COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to state residents.
As of Thursday morning, the COVID-19 vaccine dashboard is showing 692,021 people have been fully vaccinated against the virus.
State data shows 643,298 of those completed vaccine series were from the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. While 48,723 people have completed their single-dose vaccination with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

The state’s dashboard shows there were 626 new, confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 355,326.
The state’s website says of the people who have tested positive, 336,666 have recovered. This is 547 more recoveries than what the state reported yesterday.
One additional virus-related death has been reported in Iowa, bringing its death toll to 5,836.
Subtracting the number of recoveries (336,666) and the number of deaths (5,836) from the total number of cases (355,326) shows there are currently 12,824 active positive cases in the state.
There are currently 219 virus-related hospitalizations in Iowa, which is up from the 216 reported yesterday. Of those hospitalizations, 43 are in the ICU and 20 are on ventilators.
In Iowa, there were 3,032 new test results reported in the last 24 hours, and a total of 1,658,095 people have been tested for COVID-19.
