Demolition of Coolidge Elementary School in Cedar Rapids ongoing
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – On Wednesday, an internal demolition was underway on Coolidge Elementary School in Cedar Rapids, with larger-scale demolition planned for later this week.
For over than 50 years the school welcomed Cedar Rapids kids. As looking forward to new facilities, this old building will always have a special place in Principal’s Greg O’Connell memory.
“What we said on one of the last days of announcements was hold on and cherish those memories because no one can take those memories away from you. You can always think back to a special time you had at Coolidge or a special room, but we have new memories we will be making in our new building,” says O’Connell.
The new building will be named West Willow Elementary.
