Iowa to receive approximately 100,000 vaccine doses for kids aged 5-11
Des Moines, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Public Health is expecting approximately 100,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 5 to 11. On October 26, the FDA is scheduled to gather to decide whether or not to authorize their usage.
Final approval from the CDC might come by November 4.
According to the IDPH, about 284,000 children aged 5 to 11 are eligible for the new vaccine doses.
The state expected to receive 99,00 doses before the CDC’s earliest date of final approval.
As required, more vaccine doses will be delivered every week.
No shortages are predicted since the Biden administration has already acquired enough vaccine to inoculate every eligible youngster.
According to IDPH, most vaccines will be delivered in pediatric clinics, family medical clinics, federally qualified health centers, and rural health centers.
