Authorities looking for man suspected of robbing North Liberty liquor store
North Liberty, Iowa – Officers were dispatched to Johncy’s Liquor Store on Thursday evening after receiving a report of an armed robbery.
Authorities said the liquor shop was robbed at 6:18 p.m. by a suspect described as a 6 foot tall black man in his 20s with short braids/dreads, wearing a black coat and black stocking hat, brandishing a handgun. The suspect fled the store on foot, according to police.
Anyone with outdoor security cameras in the area is encouraged to check their recordings starting at 6:15 on December 9 and call the North Liberty Police Department at (319) 626-5724.
A reward of up to $1,000 is also being offered by Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers for information on the incident. Tips can be filed using the P3 Tips app, iccrimestoppers.org, or by calling (319) 358-TIPS (8477).
Individuals who provide information do not have to identify themselves in order to collect a reward.
