Mercy Medical Center and St. Luke’s Hospital released their latest COVID hospitalization number
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – Mercy Medical Center and St. Luke’s Hospital have both published their most recent counts of patients that have been hospitalized due to COVID-19 complications.
According to St. Luke’s, the number of patients has increased since Thanksgiving. As of Wednesday, 61 individuals have been admitted to hospitals with COVID-19, the most so far this year. Only 14 of the patients have been vaccinated.
47 positive COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized at the Mercy Medical Center, which is an increase over the previous month. Only three of these patients had been fully immunized and had received the booster shot.
Regardless of the recent increase in patients, both hospitals are still accepting patients.
Community members are also urged to get the booster shot as soon as possible.
