Investigation ongoing after man found shot to death in Cedar Valley Park
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – In the early hours of Friday morning, Cedar Rapids Police got a report of a man lying on the ground in Cedar Valley Park, which is located at 2250 Blakely Blvd. S.E., according to the department.
Officers were sent to the location to check on the wellbeing of the man, and upon arrival, they found an unresponsive man with apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced the man dead on the scene.
At this point, police think this was a targeted incident, and no arrests have been made.
The identity of the victim will be released after his next of kin is notified.
An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Cedar Rapids Police.
