City of Cedar Rapids clarifies right-of-way tree markings

The City of Cedar Rapids is clarifying the markings seen on trees around town that were damaged by the derecho.

The City says that markings may differ by which crew marked the tree, but any tree designated by an orange tag needs to be removed.

If an orange tag has been removed, but a tree is still marked with a yellow or orange “X,” the tree will still need to be removed.
