Annual Pride Ride took place in Cedar Rapids on Sunday
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – Cedar Rapids cyclists gathered downtown for the 5th annual Pride Ride on Sunday.
The event took place in Cedar Rapids. Local cyclists were riding through downtown all dressed in rainbow.
The first Pride Ride was organized in 2016 in order to honor the lives lost in the Pulse nightclub shooting. Since then, the Pride Ride is an annual event in Pride Month.
“It’s also to remember those that came before us, that have paved the way to make life better for LGBTQ people, and then making the way better for future generations of LGBTQ people,” Matthew Van Maanen said.
About 55 people took place in the ride.
