Iowa reports over 851,000 people fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Iowa health officials are reporting 18,260 more people have completed their vaccine series, meaning 851,762 individuals are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
As of Saturday morning, the state’s COVID-19 vaccine dashboard shows 1,930,774 total vaccine doses have been administered to Iowa residents.
Between 10 a.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday, there were 115 new, confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state. So far, Iowa has reported 359,260 people have tested positive for the virus
Of those who have tested positive, 340,003 have recovered.
Iowa’s COVID-19 dashboard shows eight additional virus-related deaths have been reported, bringing the state’s death toll to 5,878.
Subtracting the number of recoveries (340,003) and the number of deaths (5,878) from the total number of cases (359,260) shows there are currently 13,379 active positive cases in the state.
The latest report from the Iowa Department of Public Health says there are 233 hospitalizations due to the virus, which is up from 226 reported Friday. Of those hospitalizations, 50 are in the ICU and 19 are on ventilators.
In Iowa, there were 539 test results reported in the last 24 hours, and a total of 1,677,920 people have been tested for COVID-19.
