April 26: Iowa reports over 983,000 people have fully vaccinated against COVID-19

Iowa health officials are reporting 8,801 more people have completed their vaccine series, meaning 983,543 individuals are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

As of Monday morning, the state’s COVID-19 vaccine dashboard shows 2,227,299 total vaccine doses have been administered to Iowa residents.

Between 10 a.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday, there were 182 new, confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state. So far, Iowa has reported 363,080 people have tested positive for the virus

Of those who have tested positive, 344,566 have recovered, an increase of 220 since yesterday.

Iowa’s COVID-19 dashboard shows 20 additional virus-related deaths have been reported, bringing the state’s death toll to 5,927.

Subtracting the number of recoveries (344,566) and the number of deaths (5,927) from the total number of cases (363,080) shows there are currently 12,587 active positive cases in the state.

The latest report from the Iowa Department of Public Health says there are 179 hospitalizations due to the virus, which is down from 187 reported Saturday. Of those hospitalizations, 42 are in the ICU and 23 are on ventilators.

In Iowa, there were 1,293 test results reported in the last 24 hours, and a total of 1,699,617 people have been tested for COVID-19.
