Cedar Rapids, Iowa – Families were assisted in paying down their lunch deficits at Pierce Elementary School by a Cedar Rapids organization.

On Wednesday, police officers from Cedar Rapids visited the school to deliver a $1,900 cheque that would pay for all past-due lunch costs.

The Cedar Rapids Police Protective Charity, a nonprofit organization that plans events and gives youngsters financial aid in Cedar Rapids, raised the funds.

Images of the cops handing off the cheque were posted on Facebook by the Cedar Rapids Police Department.

“This amount equals the entire past-due balance for every kid at Pierce Elementary,” police wrote in the post.

“Some families had asked for help, others did not, but we want to make this happen for every family at the school.”
