Cedar Rapids Police recruiting more officers for the department
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Cedar Rapids Police Department is looking for more officers to join the department.
Interested officers can laterally transfer and CRPD will carry over pay consistent with the years of service the officer has earned. However, seniority or vacation will not transfer over.
Lateral transfers can come from either in-state or out-of-state departments, and will not be required to attend a police academy. Transfers from outside of Iowa will need to pass the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy Certification by Exam within 120 days of hire.
A release from the department says the incoming wage with the lateral transfer program will range from $58,489 – $87,027.
CRPD is accepting applications until June 7, 2021.
