CRFD responded to report of smoke at Riverview condo

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A 911 call came in to the Cedar Rapids Police Department around midnight April 22, 2021.
There was a report of smoke that came from Riverview Condo. Officials told us that it was steam ventilating out of a pipe that someone mistook for smoke.
Residents were evacuated for safe measure. There have been no injuries reported.
Cedar Rapids fire was assisted by Area Ambulance Service and CRPD.
