The incident began at about 2:22am when a deputy attempted to pull over a car on Highway 30, on the south side of Cedar Rapids, for having no license plates.
The driver refused to pull over, and led the officer on a 100 mph chase, northbound on Edgewood Road, and westbound on Adeline Court SW where the driver stopped and fled on foot.
The incident was investigated by the Linn County Sheriff, with assistance from the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
