Fans enter Kinnick Stadium for the first time in over a year
Saturday was an exciting morning for Hawkeye Football fans in Iowa City. It was the first chance many got to watch the team in person since the start of the pandemic.
The team held their first spring practice to prep for the upcoming season. The gates were open to the public and admission was free. Face covering were required and social distancing was enforced. Fans traveled from across the state to see the Hawkeyes take the field for the first time in over a year.
“I’m excited to watch them practice. It’ll be fun. They said that its crazy to see how far they throw and kick,” said fan, Tyson Getting.
“I am anxious to get in the stadium again since we didn’t get to come last year,” said fan, Caleb Huff.
The team will be hosting another open practice on May 1st.
