Fans pack bars to watch Iowa women’s basketball’s tournament run
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – Fans in Eastern Iowa are eager to support the Iowa women’s basketball team as they advance into the tournament.
The Cliff’s Dive Bar & Grill in Cedar Rapids’ downtown was packed for Iowa’s matchup with Holy Cross.
Employees like bartender Emilee Hoff claim that increased business is a result of the team’s performance.
However, for those who are unable to travel to Carver, there is a lively fan community available in bars and restaurants.
Women’s basketball draws a sizable crowd, and it’s great to see both new fans and the consistent attendance we usually get. It’s also a lot of fun to watch everyone cheer together as one unit, Hoff.
For years to come, she says she anticipates seeing more fans attend games.
