Matt Campbell signs contract extension through 2028
AMES, Iowa — Iowa State head football coach Matt Campbell has inked a new three-year contract extension, which now runs through December 31, 2028.
Campbell led the Iowa State Cyclones to arguably their best football season ever. The Cyclones went 9-3 winning the Fiesta Bowl against Oregon 34-17.
The Cyclones played in their first Big 12 Championship game losing a close game to Oklahoma 27-21.
Campbell has won the Big 12 Coach of the Year three times, including this season.
Terms of his new contract will be announced at a later date.
“I am extremely thankful to our President, Dr. (Wendy) Wintersteen and our Athletic Director, Jamie Pollard, for supporting our staff and program,” Campbell said. “The University has made a terrific commitment to Cyclone football and I’m thrilled to continue to move this program forward.”
