Riverside’s recovery operations are ongoing; the most recent information is from Woodbury County
Woodbury, Iowa – Since floodwaters began to inundate portions of Woodbury County a week ago, emergency management has given updates on a number of issues.
As floodwaters swelled throughout the county, several routes were shut down. Many of them are still closed, even if a few have allowed traffic to flow again.
Please check the Woodbury County webpage for a comprehensive list of reopened roads.
In order to assist with resource allocation throughout the area, county officials are requesting that homeowners who have water damage report it to the Iowa State Office of Emergency Services.
Water in main levels and basements is included in this.
There are still trash pickup locations accessible at Riverside’s Goldie Park through Monday AM. Beginning on Monday, residents will be able to deposit rubbish between the sidewalk and the streets following the removal of the massive trash collection equipment.
It’s important to remember that recovery work shouldn’t start until after your house has been examined. Please contact the Sioux City Inspection Office at 712-224-5216 if you live in Sioux City and your home hasn’t been inspected yet, or stop by 405 6th St., Monday through Friday.
Riverside homeowners who want to restore their houses’ utilities must arrange for an inspection with Sioux City Inspection Services. By giving Inspection Services a call at 712-224-5216, you may schedule an inspection during regular office hours.
For those affected by the flooding, the Red Cross is still running a makeshift shelter at Sacred Heart Church (5010 Military Road). They are still ready to help out when needed. You can reach the shelter by calling 712-233-1652 or by phoning the local Red Cross at 712-252-4081.
For those impacted by the flood, the Community Action Agency of Siouxland is offering clothes vouchers, an emergency food bank, and personal hygiene products. They offer coupons for Mission of the Messiah, Goodwill, and the Junior League’s Discovery Shop. Through their website, www.caasiouxland.org, CAA also oversees the Woodbury County Iowa Individual Disaster Assistance Grant Program.
