The University of Dubuque is set to launch a new medical school
Dubuque, Iowa – On Friday, the University of Dubuque revealed its plans to establish Iowa’s first new medical school in over a hundred years.
The University of Dubuque aims to launch its College of Osteopathic Medicine by August 2028, targeting an enrollment of 800 students.
The university states that osteopathic medicine provides a comprehensive approach to healthcare, addressing the entire individual – mind, body, and spirit.
“Creating a medical school is a significant undertaking,” stated Travis L. Frampton, president of the University of Dubuque. “This initiative has been steadily underway for over a year, led by committed individuals who have worked diligently to bring this vision to life.” We are excited to share this vision with everyone today.
The University of Dubuque is set to establish its College of Osteopathic Medicine in the heart of downtown Dubuque. A number of sites are under consideration.
