Valentine’s Day preparations at the flower store

Iowa City, Iowa – Flower stores are preparing for one of their biggest holidays of the year, Valentine’s Day, which is quickly approaching.

Just after Christmas, the owners of Willow and Stock, an independent floral business in Iowa City, said they began placing their supply orders.

Before the big day, they are also completing as much preparation as they can, such as assembling bouquet bases.

They stated that while they have occasionally received orders, the majority will begin to arrive on Monday.

In terms of planning, it’s undoubtedly a last-minute holiday, and it looks like there will be a lot of foot traffic and grab-and-go activity. We simply know that we need to be ready on our end,” co-owner Angela Barnett stated.

“It’s such a lovely holiday. “Seeing the little notes and card messages and people from all walks of life coming in and wanting to just give something special to someone they love is so much fun,” Amber Neville said.

According to Barnett and Neville, they usually use up a month’s supply of flowers just for Valentine’s Day.
