13 new COVID-19 deaths reported in Iowa, 800+ more people fully vaccinated for virus

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 data shows an increase of 844 confirmed cases of the virus from 10:00 a.m. on February 1 to 10:00 a.m. on February 2. Those new cases come from 3,272 new tests. The positivity rate of those latest tests is 25.8%.
60,902 Iowans have now been completely vaccinated against COVID-19 – 828 more than at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
13 new deaths were reported over the last 24-hour stretch – with 4,919 Iowans now dead from COVID-19 during the pandemic.
There are now 320,339 total cases confirmed in Iowa from 1,477,306 people tested for COVID-19.
286,339 Iowans are now classified as recovering from the virus – with 3,299 recoveries added in the last 24 hours.
390 people are now hospitalized in Iowa because of COVID-19. 88 of those patients are in the ICU. 31 of the patients are on ventilators. 49 new patients were admitted to Iowa hospitals over the last 24-hour period measured by IDPH.
