52nd flight announced by Eastern Iowa Honor Flight
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – This is the 52nd trip that the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight has made to Washington, District of Columbia.
The trip that will take place on September 17 will transport almost ninety veterans who participated in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Gulf War, in addition to veterans who did not participate in combat, to the nation’s capital in order to visit the memorials for World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and Vietnam, as well as Arlington National Cemetery.
Veterans are expected to present themselves at the Eastern Iowa Airport at 5:45 a.m. on the day of the flight, with the flight scheduled to depart at approximately 7:15 a.m.
As soon as they get back at the Eastern Iowa Airport at approximately nine o’clock in the evening, a “Welcome Home” party will be waiting for them.
Everyone is welcome to attend the celebration, which will start at 7:30 o’clock in the evening.
Since they first began in 2009, the flights have transported close to 5,000 veterans and their guardians to the Washington, District of Columbia facility.
