Mar. 12: Iowa reports over 347,000 people fully vaccinated against COVID-19
State health officials are reporting 959,053 Iowa residents have received a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
So far, the state’s COVID-19 vaccination dashboard shows 322,464 people have completed their vaccine series by receiving the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. With Iowa now administering Johnson & Johnson vaccines, 24,917 people have completed their single-dose vaccination. In total, 347,382 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
COVID-19 hospitalizations have risen to 168, an increase of two since yesterday.
Iowa Department of Public Health data shows there were 484 new, confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday, meaning 341,907 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19.
The state’s website says of the people who have tested positive, 323,630 have recovered. This is 633 more recoveries than what the state reported yesterday.
The state has reported nine additional deaths connected to COVID-19, bringing Iowa’s death toll to 5,630.
Subtracting the number of recoveries (323,630) and the number of deaths (5,630) from the total number of cases (341,907) shows there are currently 12,647 active positive cases in the state.
In Iowa, the test results for 6,166 more individuals were reported, and a total of 1,591,289 individuals have been tested for COVID-19.
