Mar. 31: Over 590,000 Iowans fully vaccinated as the state reports zero additional COVID-19 deaths

IOWA — There were 518 new, confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Tuesday to 10 a.m. Wednesday, according to the state’s dashboard, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 350,841.

The state’s website says that of the 350,841 people who have tested positive, 332,970 have recovered. This is 530 more recoveries than what the state reported Tuesday.

The state is reporting zero new COVID-19 deaths, with a death toll of 5,729.

Subtracting the number of recoveries (332,970) and the number of deaths (5,729) from the total number of cases (350,841) shows there are currently 12,142 active positive cases in the state.

As of Wednesday morning, there were 39 patients hospitalized in Iowa within the last 24 hours and the total number of hospitalizations is 191, an increase from 186 hospitalized the day before. Of those, 38 are in the ICU (down from 45), and 11 are on ventilators (same as yesterday).

In Iowa, there were 2,698 people tested in the last 24 hours, and a total of 1,637,368 people have been tested for COVID-19.

As of Wednesday morning, according to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine dashboard, 1,433,279 total doses have been administered to Iowa residents and 590,104 individuals have completed the series. This is 6,856 more completed vaccinations than Tuesday.

BLACK HAWK COUNTY

As of 10 a.m. Wednesday, the Black Hawk COVID-19 dashboard is showing 16 new cases since 10 a.m. Tuesday, leaving a total of 16,362 cases. There have been 13 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 14,636. There have been no additional deaths, leaving a total of 300 deaths. In Black Hawk County, 25,676 residents have been fully vaccinated.

LINN COUNTY

As of 10 a.m. Wednesday, the Linn County COVID-19 dashboard is showing 19 new cases since 10 a.m. Tuesday, leaving a total of 19,886 cases. There have been 15 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 18,554 recoveries. There have been no additional deaths, leaving a total of 335 deaths in the county. There are 12 patients currently hospitalized in the county. In Linn County, 43,814 residents have been fully vaccinated.

JOHNSON COUNTY

According to the state’s dashboard at 10 a.m. Wednesday, there are 27 new positive cases reported in Johnson County since 10 a.m. Tuesday. This brings the total to 13,544 reported cases. There have been a total of 13,031 recoveries, 19 more reported than yesterday. There were no additional deaths, leaving a total of 78. In Johnson County, 34,666 residents have been fully vaccinated.

DUBUQUE COUNTY

According to the state’s dashboard at 10 a.m. Wednesday, there were 19 additional positive cases reported in Dubuque County since 10 a.m. Tuesday. This brings the total to 12,720 reported cases. There have been 16 additional recoveries reported, leaving a total of 12,224. There have been no additional deaths reported, leaving a total of 200. In Dubuque County, 21,641 residents have been fully vaccinated.
