Increased risk of dementia connected to high coffee consumption, study shows
People across the nation more and more suffer from dementia. According to Alzheimer’s Association, it is defined as impaired ability to think, remember or make decisions that interferes with daily activities.
A new U.S. study shows that dementia, among other things, is highly associated with coffee consumption. Out of 17,702 participants, aged between 37 and 73, a 55% increased risk of dementia was shown at those who drank more than 5 cups of coffee daily.
Although this may be bad news for coffee lovers, at the end they have to face that not everything what they love to drink is actually good for their health.
Researchers recommend coffee lovers to drink at least a cup of water along with their coffee, as it slightly lowers the risk of dementia.
