Firefighters extinguish a fire at Westdale Pizza Ranch
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – The kitchen of the Westdale Pizza Ranch in Cedar Rapids has been damaged by fire.
The incident occured at 2450 Westdale Dr. SW at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke coming from the kitchen. Fire crews connected a line and moved in to find flames as well. The fire was quickly put out, and workers worked to clear the smoke and remove any potentially flammable items. Three employees were trapped inside but none of them was hurt.
The reason of the fire is still under investigation, but officials have confirmed that it was caused by an accident and that the damage was mostly contained to the kitchen and fryer area.
