Cause of explosion in bank still unknown, officials investigating
Indianola, Iowa – The cause of an explosion and subsequent fire at a closed bank in Indianola is being investigated by officials in south-central Iowa.
Around 9:30 p.m., an explosion occurred at TruBank. Witnesses reported hearing an explosion and saw smoke and fire coming from the teller area inside the bank on Sunday, according to television station KCCI.
The bank was closed at the time of the explosion, according to officials, and no one was inside. There were no injuries reported.
