Current COVID-19 isolation period reduced to five days in Cedar Rapids school district
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – With effect on March 1, the Cedar Rapids Community School District will shorten the 10-day isolation requirement for students who test positive for COVID-19 or who show symptoms of the virus to just five days.
According to the district, a mask will be required to be worn by kids in kindergarten through twelfth grade who return to school on day 6 after having been fever free for 24 hours.
Some of the students who don’t want to wear a mask will have to remain in isolation for 10 days.
The district says students who came out of isolation on day six while wearing masks should keep social distance as much as possible at breakfast and lunch.
