A Christmas tree decorated in honor of an Iowa child delighted her
Des Moines, Iowa – Car enthusiast Mike White is celebrating the holiday season with a Christmas tree inspired by Hot Wheels for children.
A 1968 Camaro along with other vintage cars is parked in White’s garage located in Ankeny. The walls of his garage showcase an impressive collection of 3,000 hot wheels. In addition to his garage, he also embellishes his Festival of Trees and Lights tree with hot wheels, showcasing his collection of vintage toys.
A significant number of the trees showcased at the Festival of Trees and Lights honor children who have passed away or are battling serious illnesses.
Mike and his wife Jodi adorned their tree in honor of a brave young girl, 6-year-old Rylee Shelton. Shelton was diagnosed with polycythemia vera, a type of blood cancer that currently has no cure.
Mike has gifted Hot Wheels to Shelton, and these toys have provided her with support during difficult moments.
